Assistant Designer - Own Brand

About the role

Join our Own Brand team to drive product development and creative innovation within your assigned category. You will report to the Own Brand Buying Manager and play a vital role in executing our company strategy and objectives.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage the end-to-end product development process, including accurate and timely submission of technical packs to manufacturers.
• Collaborate with the Design team to address and resolve development or design challenges.
• Source and select trims, fabrications, and colors that meet our quality standards.
• Attend fit sessions to ensure product quality, using technical expertise to approve final samples alongside the GT.
• Assist with trend forecasting, tech drawings, and general sample management.
• Verify that final products align with original design briefs and manufacturing capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in range planning meetings to ensure a balanced selection of styles, colors, and materials.
• Keep range boards current and aligned with planning requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a design or product development team.
• Proven background in print, fabric, and trim development.
• Strong ability to forecast trends with a focus on commercial fashion.
• Knowledge of industry-specific compliance and regulatory standards.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-speed environment.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
