Assistant Category Buyer at THE ICONIC.
About the role
Join our commercial team to help shape the future of fashion retail in Australia and New Zealand. You will support the Womenswear Footwear department by managing inventory, vendor relationships, and data-driven buying strategies.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Assist with procurement processes for the category.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure stock availability.
- Resolve delivery, invoice, and order discrepancies with vendors.
- Analyze data and market trends to provide actionable recommendations.
- Negotiate contract terms for both wholesale and platform vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and manage the selection or exit process.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
- Identify supply chain issues through quality assurance checks.
- Manage vendor administration to maintain data accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Buyer in a high volume business.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Jira, Excel, BI, and BC.
- Knowledge of API integrations and platform software.
