About the role
The owns the quality strategy for suppliers and subcontractors engaged in the development of Nyx. You will translate customer requirements and engineering specifications into actionable quality requirements that guide supplier selection and contract formation. A core part of your role involves executing independent surveillance during contract execution to verify that all quality aspects are rigorously followed by external partners. You will act as a key interface, engaging with Suppliers and Subcontractors to drive the resolution of Nonconformances and ensure timely corrective actions. Your participation in contracted Quality and Engineering gates will be essential to validate processes and deliverables against program milestones. You will also accept subcontracted products and deliverables by actively participating in Delivery Review Boards and by issuing certificates of acceptance based on verified evidence. Ultimately, you will safeguard the integrity of the supply chain by ensuring that all outsourced activities align with the stringent expectations of the space and aerospace industry.

What you'll do
Perform surveillance activities of contract execution with a sharp focus on Quality Aspects to ensure adherence to agreed processes and standards.
Provide structured inputs for Supplier and Subcontractor quality requirements during Proposal development and Contract negotiation phases to embed compliance from the outset.
Engage directly with Suppliers and Subcontractors to investigate and resolve Nonconformances, driving collaborative problem-solving and accountability.
Participate actively in contracted Quality and Engineering gates, offering critical quality perspectives that influence go/no-go decisions.
Accept subcontracted products and deliverables through constructive participation in Delivery Review Boards and by reviewing and issuing certificates of acceptance based on evidence.
Plan and execute Quality Inspections in collaboration with the MAIT and Product Assurance team, defining inspection activities at Incoming, key stages of manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing, as well as before release to customers or the next integration phase.
Support the detection, documentation, and containment of Nonconformances, ensuring that issues are clearly recorded and communicated to prevent recurrence.
Assist in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and follow up on the implementation of rework or repair actions, verifying that corrective measures meet defined acceptance criteria.
Lead root cause analysis activities using structured methodologies and coordinate corrective and preventive actions in close coordination with engineering and MAIT teams.
Provide day-to-day quality support to MAIT operations, acting as a trusted advisor on quality matters and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Review and approve MAIT procedures to confirm they reflect current best practices and meet organizational and regulatory expectations.
Monitor and enforce strict compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and space and aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.
Qualify Special processes in line with EN9100, including but not limited to welding and Non-Destructive Testing, leveraging specific experience with welding where applicable.
Train MAIT staff on quality procedures and best practices to elevate the overall quality culture and capability within the team.
Coordinate calibration activities to ensure that measurement and test equipment remain accurate and reliable throughout the program.
Lead quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing process stability and product quality, using data to drive decisions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify and implement actions that improve product quality.
Analyze quality data and generate insightful reports to track trends, highlight systemic issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is mandatory as a foundational academic qualification.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality assurance role is required, with a preference for backgrounds in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of quality standards such as EN/AS9100 and ISO 9001 is essential for effective application of the quality management framework.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and inspection techniques, including visual, dimensional, and electrical testing methods, is required.
Proficiency in nonconformance management systems and the use of root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5-Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams is mandatory.
Demonstrated proficiency in quality tools including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, and statistical analysis techniques is required.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders is essential.
Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar is highly relevant.
