About the role
Texas Research International is seeking a software engineer to join our 40-person team in southwest Austin. You will focus on improving the usability and deployment of our internal engineering codebase to better manage complex scientific datasets.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and support software tools for the analysis of large-scale engineering and scientific data.
- Refactor and maintain existing code written in Python, C, and C++.
- Collaborate with other developers to improve the deployment and long-term maintainability of our internal systems.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, which typically span 1 to 3 years each.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science.
- Professional experience programming in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience building graphical user interfaces.
- Proficiency working in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Must be eligible to obtain a US DoD security clearance.
- Ability to work on-site in Austin.
Nice to have
- Experience working within a CMMC level 2 cybersecurity environment.
- Background in mathematics, algorithm development, or graphics development.
- Knowledge of GPU computing, computer vision, or digital signal processing.
- Experience with hardware-software interfaces for automation, motion control, or data collection.
- Familiarity with third-party software integration.
- Interest in software architecture patterns and optimization techniques.
