Principal Network Engineer

Join tensorwave during a significant growth period to lead the front-end network architecture for our extensive AI and GPU-accelerated infrastructure. You will collaborate with various teams to support business goals while maintaining high standards of work and teamwork.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Take ownership of the front-end network design, including DCI, edge, ingress/egress, and control plane networks.
• Develop and manage large-scale edge and service networks.
• Create designs for scalable Ethernet architectures.
• Establish strategies for routing, segmentation, and isolation.
• Lead the physical setup, testing, and problem-solving for new data centers.
• Define and uphold standard network designs and plans for future expansion.
• Manage relationships with network providers and service partners.
• Work with the platform team to build network solutions for Kubernetes environments.
• Coordinate with the Back End Network Principal to define clear interfaces between front-end and RDMA back-end systems.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or have equivalent practical experience.
• Possess at least 10 years of experience in data center networking.
• Demonstrate proven success with very large Ethernet fabrics and extensive edge networks.
• Have strong practical experience with BGP, traffic management, and designs for high availability.
• Be experienced in 100G-400G+ Ethernet environments.
• Be familiar with optical standards and transceiver types such as 100G/400G/800G, SR/LR/ER, and DWDM.
• Show documented experience working with network carriers to establish production connectivity.
• Have experience with multiple vendors including Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and Whitebox.
• Be proficient with network operating systems such as Junos, IOS/IOS-XE, NX-OS, EOS, and SONiC.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation or scripting in Python, GO, Bash, or similar languages.
• Background in AI platforms or GPU clusters.
• Experience with multi-tenant or customer-facing platforms.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts.
• Exposure to network automation and programmability.
• Experience in 100G+ environments.
• Familiarity with AI, GPU, or HPC.
