This role offers the chance to take full ownership of your work, from initial problem analysis to final deployment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Take responsibility for tasks from start to finish, including understanding requirements, implementing code, and deploying to production.
- Develop and refine backend logic using C# and .NET 4.8, focusing on creating code that is easy to maintain and secure.
- Construct, troubleshoot, and enhance complex T-SQL queries and database structures within SQL Server.
- Create and support backend services and APIs that enable frontend applications and other systems.
- Participate in agile team activities, collaborate with business analysts on user stories, and contribute to technical planning.
- Engage in code reviews and technical discussions to share knowledge and learn from colleagues.
- Deploy new features through the continuous integration and deployment pipeline.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development, demonstrating an intermediate skill level or significant technical growth.
- Strong proficiency in C# and a deep understanding of the .NET 4.8 framework.
- Advanced skills in relational databases, including writing and optimizing T-SQL queries.
- Experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs in a live environment.
- A solid grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices for code quality.
- Effective communication abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical individuals and collaborating with business analysts.
- Initiative and resourcefulness to independently analyze issues, identify root causes, and drive solutions.
- A willingness to learn independently and seek assistance when necessary.
Nice to have
- Experience working within an agile framework, including user stories and sprint ceremonies.
- Familiarity with the benefits administration or insurance industry.
- Contributions to open-source or personal technical projects.
