AWS Engineer at Technix LLC.
About the role
Technix LLC is seeking an experienced engineer to support a 12-month contract for the State of Texas. You will manage complex data migrations and infrastructure modernization efforts while working within a hybrid schedule.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Migrate data from Oracle environments to AWS using Database Migration Service.
- Design and maintain cloud infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, and routing.
- Execute batch and real-time data ingestion tasks such as streaming, full loads, and Change Data Capture.
- Build and maintain cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Manage cloud network security via VPNs, Direct Connect, and security groups.
- Create migration runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback strategies to ensure minimal downtime.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting languages.
- Monitor system performance and logs to ensure reliable delivery of technology solutions.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in IT supporting technology solution delivery.
- 8 years of experience with AWS Database Migration Service for Oracle to AWS transitions.
- 8 years of experience in batch and real-time data ingestion including CDC and streaming.
- 8 years of experience designing AWS infrastructure and networking.
- 8 years of experience with core AWS services like EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda.
- 8 years of experience with CloudFormation or Terraform.
- 8 years of experience with ETL/ELT processes in cloud migration.
- 8 years of experience scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- 8 years of experience managing cloud network security and monitoring tools like CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- 8 years of experience with hybrid cloud connectivity and legacy system updates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation.
Nice to have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database Specialty.
- 1 year of experience in public sector or state government settings.
