What you'll do

• Develop and refine the foundational software for client-side network connections.
• Integrate industry networking standards with Tailscale's unique architecture to advance product capabilities.
• Design and implement network modules with a strong emphasis on security and resilience.
• Optimize the performance and reliability of our software across various technical environments.
• Provide expert network support for customer success teams on critical escalations.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in networking software development and troubleshooting network issues.
• Deep understanding of networking principles including routing, VPNs, IP addressing, and NAT traversal.
• Proficiency in Go or similar low-level languages like C/C++ or Rust, with strong concurrent programming skills.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems is highly valued.
• Familiarity with low-level operating system network stacks is highly valued.
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, and work autonomously.
• Adaptability to the fast-paced nature of a startup environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Salary range: $218,420 - $302,840 CAD.
