Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

Taekus is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to unify our financial data. This role involves bridging the gap between external bookkeeping records and internal financial models, ensuring a single, accurate source of truth for our growing fintech and travel company. You will play a central role in shaping our financial operations as we scale.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Act as the primary link between external bookkeepers and our internal financial models, resolving discrepancies and aligning account structures.
• Oversee various aspects of accounting and reporting, taking full ownership of processes for finance and business partners.
• Direct accounting projects and tasks, making decisions to ensure timely monthly book closures.
• Assist in reorganizing our chart of accounts to better reflect operational and forecasting needs.
• Gradually bring bookkeeping functions in-house, eventually managing month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Manage daily finance administration, including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, vendor relations, expense tracking, and payroll coordination.
• Evaluate internal control designs and create new processes for evolving business activities.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Develop and maintain Excel models and reports that connect actual financial data with forecasts.
• Support leadership with variance analysis and ad hoc data analysis, reporting risks and issues as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits/credits, accruals, and month-end close procedures.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• A strong sense of ownership, comfortable managing end-to-end workflows in a lean startup environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail, capable of investigating conflicting data sets to identify root causes of differences.

• Practical, hands-on experience integrating AI tools into workflows for real-world tasks.
