What you'll do

• Design and implement robust security architectures to protect sensitive information and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is a priority from the outset.
• Monitor security alerts and incidents, responding promptly to any breaches or anomalies to minimize impact and restore normal operations.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Provide training and awareness programs for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security measures.
• Work with external vendors and partners to evaluate and implement security solutions that align with our business objectives.
• Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, assessments, and compliance audits for management and stakeholders.
• Participate in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that the organization is prepared for potential security breaches.
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience.
• Engage in regular security reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of existing security measures and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related discipline, with a proven track record of managing security projects.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.
• Experience with cloud security, particularly in environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ for scripting and automation tasks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with security operations center (SOC) processes and incident response methodologies.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security testing tools.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and risk assessment methodologies.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
• Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations beyond GDPR, such as CCPA or HIPAA.
