Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and implement robust security architectures to protect sensitive information and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is a priority from the outset.
- Monitor security alerts and incidents, responding promptly to any breaches or anomalies to minimize impact and restore normal operations.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security measures.
- Work with external vendors and partners to evaluate and implement security solutions that align with our business objectives.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, assessments, and compliance audits for management and stakeholders.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that the organization is prepared for potential security breaches.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience.
- Engage in regular security reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of existing security measures and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related discipline, with a proven track record of managing security projects.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.
- Experience with cloud security, particularly in environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ for scripting and automation tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.

- Experience with security operations center (SOC) processes and incident response methodologies.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security testing tools.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and risk assessment methodologies.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
