Staff Product Designer, Risk

About the role

You will lead design efforts for our Risk organization, focusing on how businesses establish trust and maintain compliance while scaling on our platform. This role involves navigating intricate systems to build intuitive interfaces that protect our users and the broader Stripe ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Simplify complicated operational policies and technical constraints into user-friendly product flows.
• Find ways to improve consistency across various user touchpoints and product surfaces.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and strategists to determine product strategy and achieve business goals.
• Balance immediate, practical design needs with long-term strategic planning.
• Create prototypes and use storytelling to share design concepts with stakeholders.
• Utilize data and user research to guide design decisions and measure results.
• Ensure high standards for visual and interaction quality throughout the development process.
• Build shared design patterns to help the Risk team maintain a cohesive product ecosystem.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in product design within a technology-focused company.
• A portfolio that highlights systems thinking, end-to-end design, and proficiency with AI tools.
• Proven ability to manage design work within complex environments featuring multiple stakeholders and interconnected workflows.
• Strong product intuition with the ability to define strategy rather than just executing tasks.
• Experience designing and prototyping for multiple surfaces and user touchpoints.
• High-level communication skills, with the ability to advocate for design decisions using clear rationale.
