About the role

This role involves advising on the legal and regulatory considerations for Stripe's data products. You will be a primary legal advisor for product and engineering teams, guiding them through the development and launch of new offerings.

What you'll do

• Provide counsel on legal and regulatory matters concerning the use of artificial intelligence across Stripe's operations, including data privacy, consumer protection, and product development.
• Collaborate with engineering, partnerships, privacy, and security departments to offer practical legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, from conception to release.
• Develop, review, and maintain essential legal documents for Stripe's products and services.
• Stay informed about laws and regulations impacting consumer financial data access, analyzing their implications for product strategy.
• Act as a strategic partner to product teams, offering legal and business insights to shape product roadmaps.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of legal experience, either at a leading law firm or in-house, focusing on technology companies and product development.
• Demonstrated ability to understand complex technology and business models, with a strong grasp of cloud-based API service provider regulations.
• Proven capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently in a dynamic setting.
• An aptitude for ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and sound judgment in decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams under pressure.
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities, adept at handling shifting priorities and deadlines.
• A background in technology law.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strategic thinking skills to support business partners in making informed decisions.
