About the role
The hire will own the strategic evolution of the Stripe Dashboard, defining a long-term vision that ensures the platform remains the definitive power tool for payment specialists globally. They will be responsible for expanding the Dashboard's influence across the entire organization, aligning cross-functional efforts to advance Stripe's core mission of increasing the GDP of the internet. This role requires navigating complex systems to transform the Dashboard into an adaptive, intelligent, and indispensable interface for a diverse spectrum of businesses. The manager will shape the narrative of the product, ensuring that every decision contributes to a more seamless and powerful user experience for millions of operators. What you'll do
- Conduct deep ethnographic research to map the workflows of power users and identify friction points within the current Dashboard interface.
- Architect the information hierarchy and navigation systems necessary to boost user efficiency and accelerate product discovery for complex business needs.
- Define and own the strategic roadmap for a personalized Dashboard experience that adapts to distinct business models and user roles.
- Write the definitive guide for interoperability across the various interconnected layers of the Dashboard, ensuring consistency and clarity for all teams.
- Analyze behavioral data and synthesize findings into narratives that inform decision-making and validate hypotheses for new features.
- Partner with external developers and stakeholders to gather feedback, translating their requirements into actionable product specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams across multiple time zones to orchestrate the successful launch of high-value, high-impact features.
- Establish and monitor a comprehensive framework of quality and performance metrics to evaluate the success of product initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and market trends to determine their potential integration into the Dashboard's long-term vision.
- Partner with senior leadership to maintain and elevate standards for scalability, performance, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Accumulating 10+ years of experience in product management, design, or engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior role making high-level product choices.
- Demonstrating a strong grasp of user interface and user experience concepts and established methods for complex digital products.
- Having technical knowledge of personalization platforms, data structures, and machine learning fundamentals to evaluate feasibility and trade-offs.
- Excelling in written and verbal communication with diverse business, design, and engineering audiences across varying levels of technical depth.
- Showing a history of leading company-wide initiatives that successfully influence technical plans and product direction.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, making informed decisions with incomplete data and evolving requirements.
- Commitment to building inclusive products, ensuring accessibility and usability for a global and diverse user base.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with key partners, attend industry events, and engage directly with the Stripe community.
