Engineering Manager, Usage Platform

About the role

You will lead the engineering team responsible for the infrastructure that powers usage-based billing and metering across the Stripe ecosystem. This role focuses on building highly reliable systems that accurately track and process massive volumes of data to support global financial operations.

• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers focused on usage-based infrastructure.
• Oversee the architecture and development of systems that track and meter complex transaction data.
• Ensure the platform maintains high availability and data integrity for billing operations.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define the technical roadmap for the Usage Platform.
• Improve system performance and scalability to handle increasing transaction volumes.

Requirements

• Experience managing high-performing software engineering teams.
• Background in building distributed systems or large-scale data processing platforms.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams.
