Stepful is seeking a Senior Manager to elevate the quality of instruction and enhance the experience for our faculty. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards across our healthcare certificate programs as we expand. You will develop the infrastructure and community that empowers instructors to excel.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and implement standards for excellent instruction across various entry-level healthcare certificate programs.
- Create coaching rubrics and regular feedback cycles to help instructors meet these standards.
- Foster a vibrant virtual community where instructors can connect, share best practices, and feel recognized.
- Develop self-service tools and dashboards for instructors to monitor their classroom performance, including pass rates and student engagement.
- Establish recognition programs and feedback mechanisms to motivate instructors and gather improvement ideas.
- Oversee a Cohort Logistics Manager responsible for scheduling, and 2-3 Instructor Quality Managers who handle coaching and onboarding.
- Monitor instructor performance, tenure, and risks to inform hiring, offboarding, and staffing decisions.
- Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure effective content delivery and identify areas for curriculum updates.
- Analyze student outcome data to assess instructor performance and reduce variability across cohorts.
- Experiment with AI-powered coaching and observation tools to improve feedback efficiency.
- Partner with Curriculum and Product teams on program adjustments, and with Growth teams on cohort scheduling.
- Support the launch of new entry-level certificate programs.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience in instructional quality, curriculum development, or education operations.
- Experience leading a large team or network of contractors or adjunct staff.
- Prior experience as a teacher, enabling effective communication with instructors.
- Demonstrated ability to create new systems, such as observation rubrics, coaching workflows, and performance tracking, and ensure their adoption.
- Comfortable working independently in dynamic and undefined environments.
- Strong communication and coaching abilities, including leading groups and providing constructive feedback.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare education, such as allied health or clinical training.
- Previous experience at an early-stage startup (Series A-C).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and using data for quality decisions.

Practical notes
This is a hybrid role based in New York City. The compensation package includes a meaningful equity stake, subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), FSA, HSA, commuter benefits, and a learning stipend.
