Join Starpath Robotics to create precision components for advanced space robotics. This role involves setting up and operating CNC milling machines, focusing on craftsmanship and problem-solving. You will contribute to the next generation of space technology.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Set up and operate 3-axis, 4th-axis rotary, and 5-axis CNC mills for aerospace robotics.
- Modify and refine HAAS G-code programs.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM models, and GD&T specifications to develop machining plans.
- Perform machine setups, including cutting soft jaws, changing fixtures, gathering tools, and setting offsets.
- Inspect parts after each operation using various inspection tools.
- Maintain documentation such as print mark-ups, saved programs, setup sheets, and tool lists.
- Choose and optimize tooling, adjusting speeds and feeds for efficiency and tool longevity.
- Perform general shop tasks like saw cutting, deburring, and using grinders and pneumatic tools.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and optimize processes within the machine shop.
- Mentor team members and share best practices.
- Assist with product assembly and other tasks as needed to support the team.
- Help with machine maintenance, cleanliness, and minor repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in CNC machining.
- Strong understanding of 3-axis CNC milling.
- Familiarity with HAAS controls (both new and old styles) and G-code, or a willingness to learn these systems (e.g., HAAS UMC 750 & VF-series).
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance.
- Frequent standing, bending, grasping, and pulling required for shop activities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with export regulations.
Nice to have
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
- Expertise in setting up fixtures and operating multi-axis mill CNC machines.
- Strong background in complex surfacing, contours, and aerospace applications.
- Experience improving processes for productivity, quality, and repeatability.
- Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling types for materials like 6061/7075 aluminum, 300/400 series stainless steel, carbon steels, Inconel, and plastics.
- Experience mentoring others and leading shop projects.
- Exposure to 5-axis machining.

Practical notes
Compensation ranges from $25-$32 per hour for Level 1 and $32-$40 per hour for Level 2, based on experience and interview performance. Overtime may be available during peak production.
