About the role
SSOE Group is hiring a Structural Engineer to join the Tool Install division, which focuses on complex process equipment for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities. You will produce structural designs and technical documentation to ensure equipment installations are safe and compliant within high-tech environments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design structural support systems including equipment frames, platforms, anchors, and racks for semiconductor fab settings.
- Create design calculations, load path evaluations, and basis-of-design documentation.
- Produce and review 3D models and structural drawings for cleanroom and subfab utility installations.
- Coordinate with project managers and cross-discipline teams to align structural scopes and delivery schedules.
- Resolve clashes between structural elements and other systems like piping or cable trays.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing infrastructure and update designs based on field conditions.
- Perform QA/QC on models and calculations to ensure adherence to internal standards and building codes.
- Manage design changes through formal review gates and provide guidance to junior staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona, or the ability to obtain it via reciprocity within six months.
- Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience, specifically in semiconductor, industrial, or cleanroom projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, BIM coordination, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Expertise in structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and anchorage systems.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety standards for mission-critical facilities.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
