Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Spreetail is expanding its global ecommerce platform and seeks a technical lead to manage large-scale backend services. You will guide architectural strategy while remaining active in daily development and mentoring team members.

What you'll do

• Design and implement complex backend systems and integrations from initial concept to production.
• Establish technical standards and make architectural decisions that influence the team roadmap.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers through code reviews and design guidance.
• Resolve ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges by managing projects from start to finish.
• Promote operational excellence by focusing on automation, observability, and system reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Infrastructure departments.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Proven expertise in distributed systems and large-scale architectural design.
• Demonstrated history of technical leadership, including setting standards and mentoring peers.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong capabilities in debugging, testing, and technical documentation.
• Must provide a home office setup: 4th gen Intel i3 or better, 4GB RAM, Windows 10/macOS, dual monitors, 10 Mbps wired internet, headset, and 720p HD webcam.

• Experience working with high-throughput systems or ecommerce marketplaces.
