About the role
Join the Platform team to help build Groove, an internal platform used by thousands of Spotify employees to plan, coordinate, and deliver work across the company. You will work within a small, cross-functional engineering group that focuses on creating tools that reduce friction and help people work more effectively. The team iterates quickly based on user feedback and continuously refines the products it ships.

What you'll do
- Develop and improve Groove, a fullstack platform supporting planning, collaboration, and execution workflows
- Design and ship features such as initiative tracking, planning workflows, and dependency management
- Build end-to-end solutions using React, TypeScript, Java, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and Google Kubernetes Engine
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand user needs and shape intuitive experiences
- Maintain reliability through testing, monitoring, and ongoing production improvements
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents as needed
- Enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability across frontend and backend systems
- Apply AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity while retaining responsibility for quality and correctness
- Lead the design and delivery of complex, high-impact features spanning the full stack
- Own problems from ambiguous requirements through to production-ready solutions
- Help shape and evolve architecture across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to raising the technical standard of the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building scalable fullstack applications in production settings
- Proficiency working across frontend and backend technologies with an understanding of how they integrate
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and modern web application architecture
- Ownership mindset covering implementation, production health, and ongoing improvements
- Track record of designing systems and influencing technical direction
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and collaboration in distributed teams
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code that others can build on confidently
- Thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools with sound engineering judgment to validate outputs
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and making trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
- Interest in mentoring teammates, sharing knowledge, and supporting growth
- Curiosity and motivation for continuous learning and experimentation
