Staff Data Engineer - Subscriptions User Understanding

About the role

This role focuses on the data infrastructure supporting over 200 million Premium subscribers. You will lead technical strategy for the Subscriptions User Understanding team to help Spotify reach its goals of one billion users and 100 billion dollars in revenue.

Requirements

• Extensive background in designing and operating large-scale, cloud-native data platforms.
• Proven ability to build reliable distributed data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, and quality assurance.
• Ability to balance short-term project requirements with long-term architectural health.
• Experience influencing technical direction through collaboration and communication rather than relying on formal authority.
• Skilled at communicating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders including product managers, data scientists, and leadership.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching engineering teams.
