About the role

Spotify is hiring a Music Editor to shape the listening journey for users across Australia and New Zealand. You will work within the local editorial group to refine content strategies and improve how our audience discovers music.

What you'll do

• Build and manage playlists across various genres by blending analytical data with cultural intuition.
• Review streaming metrics and user habits to improve programming and reach new listeners.
• Produce written content, video segments, and on-camera appearances that represent the Spotify brand.
• Track music trends and cultural shifts to keep local programming relevant.
• Support local artists by promoting their work within the global Spotify network.
• Coordinate with marketing and communications departments to meet regional objectives.
• Develop new editorial formats to increase user interaction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in music curation, cultural journalism, radio, or digital media.
• Strong grasp of the Australian and New Zealand music landscape and the ability to anticipate global trends.
• Proven ability to present music content on camera with authority.
• High-level writing skills for creating engaging commentary.
• Experience with digital culture, social media, and connecting with younger demographics.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Ability to use data and analytics to guide editorial choices.
• Experience with visual storytelling and design principles for playlist artwork.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle high-volume programming tasks.

• Broad genre expertise, specifically within the Dance, Electronic, and Hip-Hop spaces.

Practical notes
