About the role

Spin Careers is looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to guide the architecture and reliability of our core platforms. You will act as a senior technical authority, setting the direction for infrastructure roadmaps and mentoring engineering staff across the organization.

What you'll do

• Architect scalable and secure infrastructure systems to support platform services.
• Set the long-term technical vision and influence infrastructure strategy across multiple squads.
• Direct SRE initiatives to minimize operational manual work and improve system resilience.
• Conduct root cause analysis on systemic failures and implement permanent fixes.
• Build and maintain observability standards, including alerting, logging, and metrics.
• Develop automation tools to improve infrastructure performance and workflows.
• Coordinate with security and compliance departments to meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to leadership regarding system risks and architectural decisions.
• Manage capacity planning to forecast growth and ensure service availability.
• Refine disaster recovery plans and business continuity testing.
• Act as a culture ambassador to promote an inclusive and autonomous work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in platform engineering, site reliability, or infrastructure roles.
• Demonstrated history of operating and designing distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration like Kubernetes.
• Advanced programming capabilities in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience managing hybrid environments or major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to influence engineering practices across different teams and present technical concepts to various stakeholders.
