IC5 - Data Architect

About the role

You will serve as the primary technical authority for our global data and AI infrastructure. This position involves defining the long-term architectural roadmap while operating with high autonomy to solve complex technical challenges.

What you'll do

• Create and implement an enterprise-wide data and AI strategy that supports product and business objectives.
• Develop and test new data frameworks, big data technologies, and AI-integrated solutions.
• Manage global integration patterns for large-scale data sources to ensure consistent data movement.
• Mentor senior technical staff, including DataOps leads, data model leads, and lead data engineers.
• Set and enforce organizational standards for technical documentation and design patterns.
• Design governance and quality frameworks to ensure data democratization remains secure and compliant.
• Act as the final authority on database structures, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Lead the design and prototyping of cloud-native data lakes, mesh architectures, streaming engines, and ETL/DTL pipelines.
• Monitor and audit hyper-scale systems to maximize reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Coordinate with executive, product, and engineering leadership to align business needs with technical architecture.
• Manage high-availability replication between heterogeneous databases, such as Oracle and Amazon Aurora, while overseeing operational DBA tasks.
• Promote a culture of ownership and proactive problem-solving across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technical leader in data architecture.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native data lakes, data mesh, and real-time streaming architectures.
• Strong background in database administration, specifically with Oracle and Amazon Aurora.
• Ability to manage complex data migrations and high-availability replication strategies.
• Experience defining and enforcing enterprise-level data governance and quality standards.
• Proficiency in optimizing large-scale systems for performance and cost.
