Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for 1-2 Founding Engineers to join our client's team on a full-time, on-site basis. Our client is a fast-growing startup backed by venture capital, focused on transforming how businesses understand and influence AI models regarding their brands. This role involves applying psychological insights to large language models (LLMs) to enhance lead generation and inform content, pricing, and product strategies.

What you'll do

• Develop and enhance a universal context management platform that facilitates agentic workflows across various customer data, communications, and deliverables.
• Implement AI interpretability techniques to analyze and understand how LLMs form perceptions about brands and their competitors.
• Assume complete ownership of features, guiding them from initial customer research through infrastructure development to final production deployment.
• Contribute to establishing new engineering practices and patterns focused on agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code.
• Create internal automation and custom software solutions for clients utilizing AI agents with comprehensive company context.

Requirements

• Experience: 1-5 years of full-stack engineering experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have worked in startups or come from non-traditional backgrounds. Candidates with slightly less experience but exceptional communication skills may also be considered.
• Core Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python and React is essential. Experience in backend development and infrastructure is prioritized over frontend design skills.
• Domain Expertise: Familiarity with agentic AI systems and LLMs is necessary. Knowledge of Terraform, AWS, and contemporary tooling is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, independence, and a collaborative, low-ego approach are crucial for success in this role.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Terraform, AWS, and modern tooling is a strong plus.

Practical notes

• Salary: Competitive base salary based on experience, with the potential for higher offers for outstanding candidates.
• Equity: 0.3% - 1.5% equity.
• Location: On-site (5 days a week) in San Francisco, CA.
• Visa Status: No new visa sponsorships available. However, support for O-1 transfers and H-1B transfers will be provided, including a letter of support for existing visa holders.
