About the role

SpaceXAI is building AI systems to map the universe and advance human knowledge. We are looking for a hands-on leader to manage data center infrastructure reliability and oversee our facilities team in the Memphis area.

What you'll do

• Supervise and mentor a team of technicians and supervisors to maintain high performance and safety standards.
• Manage the maintenance and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure, including HVAC, power distribution, UPS, and generators.
• Create and enforce standard operating procedures, emergency response plans, and change management protocols.
• Design and track preventive maintenance programs and performance metrics.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams on equipment installation, commissioning, and lifecycle management.
• Oversee vendor contracts, spare parts inventory, and operational budgets.
• Provide 24/7 on-call leadership for incident response.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing mission-critical facilities systems like power and cooling.
• 5+ years of experience in people management, specifically leading technical teams or supervisors.
• Proficiency with CMMS, BMS, and environmental monitoring tools.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs, work at heights up to 50 feet, navigate confined spaces, and work in noisy environments.
• Valid driver license.
• Must pass pre-employment and annual background checks.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by site operations.

Nice to have

• Experience configuring or programming PLC-based control systems and advanced BMS.
• PMP certification.
• EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Experience managing capital expenditure projects and scaling operations in high-growth settings.
