Director, Data Center Facilities Operations at SpaceXAI.

Key facts
What you'll do
- Direct a multi-layered team of managers, supervisors, and technicians to maintain 24/7/365 reliability across all data center facilities.
- Manage site-wide strategy, multi-year roadmaps, and budgeting for both CapEx and OpEx.
- Coordinate with engineering, IT, and executive leadership to execute large-scale projects related to capacity expansion and operational efficiency.
- Create and refine standardized work instructions, maintenance protocols, and operational procedures.
- Oversee external vendors and contractors for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire safety, and utility systems.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators including uptime, safety, energy efficiency, and labor productivity.
- Develop long-term capital planning and total cost of ownership models for all infrastructure.
- Manage emergency response frameworks and on-call support to ensure rapid recovery and system availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in critical facilities management, data center infrastructure, or facilities operations.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing multi-site or multi-facility operations.
- Proven history of leading teams within high-availability, mission-critical, or industrial environments.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and non-standard schedules as needed.
- Willingness to travel across the site and to other SpaceX locations.
Nice to have
- Master degree in business or engineering.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CFM, CEM, or data center-specific credentials.
- Technical expertise in high-power electrical systems, UPS/generators, precision cooling, fuel systems, and DCIM/BMS platforms.
- Experience with Tier standards and redundancy/resiliency design.
- Background in managing complex vendor ecosystems and large-scale capital programs.
