This role involves overseeing the daily flow of materials essential for rocket production, launch, and recovery operations. You will manage a team focused on receiving, distributing, and issuing critical components. The goal is to achieve high on-time delivery rates and drive continuous improvement within materials management at a launch site.

What you'll do
- Supervise an hourly workforce, including performance evaluations, feedback, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Lead by example, incorporating feedback from all organizational levels and motivating your team to achieve top results.
- Monitor and enhance operational safety, aiming for zero OSHA recordable incidents annually.
- Ensure adherence to business practices for quality product processing, meeting AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Oversee the acceptance, storage, and issuance of various parts, details, and hardware into inventory.
- Manage operations to deliver high levels of customer service, adapting to business needs.
- Identify and lead initiatives for cost savings through internal and external optimization.
- Confirm routine execution of cycle counting procedures to satisfy audit requirements.
- Support the management of a vehicle fleet, ensuring preventative maintenance and enhancements.
- Develop and maintain service routes and material replenishment systems for internal customers.
- Supervise local shipping and receiving, coordinating movements within and outside the facility.
- Drive projects and changes that contribute to ongoing improvements in materials management.
- Ensure procedures for shelf-life storage and proper stock rotation (FIFO) are followed.
- Verify continuous effectiveness of environmental controls based on material requirements.
- Monitor and develop the workforce, ensuring team members are challenged and meet performance standards.
- Review and approve employee time-keeping records.
- Support and maintain metric goals for the Cape inventory teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing; OR 4+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing.
- 1+ year of leadership experience managing teams, projects, or individuals.
- Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
- Ability to work 2nd Shift: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted and performing physical tasks such as standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with ITAR regulations.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, science, engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Completion of a leadership or rotational development program.
- Association for Supply Chain Management certification (CPIM or CSCP).
- Lean/6-Sigma experience (Green/Black Belt certifications).
- Strong communication and team-building abilities.
- Organized and self-motivated, able to work independently.
- Experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting.
- Background in aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing.
