About the role
Join the team in McGregor, Texas, to maintain and install ground support equipment for rocket testing. This second-shift position focuses on the mechanical integrity of fuel, liquid oxygen, and high-pressure systems to support our mission to Mars.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, valves, tanks, and plumbing for ground support facilities.
- Operate and maintain high-pressure systems, pneumatic components, and ancillary hardware.
- Fabricate GSE hardware and assist in building structural and engine test equipment.
- Collaborate with design engineers to document activities and refine site-wide testing processes.
- Ensure all materials meet Clean for Oxygen Service Standards.
- Adhere to safety and quality protocols while maintaining necessary operator permits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in mechanical systems, pipe installation, or stainless steel tube bending.
- Valid driver license.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted.
- Physical capability to work at heights up to 300 feet, in extreme weather, and while wearing specialized PPE like supplied air respirators or chemical suits.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts.
- Availability to travel up to 20 percent of the time, including to government or military sites.
- Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Nice to have
- Background in aerospace, military, or high-reliability environments.
- Proficiency with NPT and A/N fittings.
- Experience with high vacuum systems, bore scope inspections, and precision measuring tools.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials including cryogenic, hypergolic, pyrophoric, and flammable substances.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Mechanical training and experience operating heavy equipment.
