Full Stack Software Engineer, Internal Systems

About the role

This team functions as the central nervous system for SpaceX, building mission-critical software that drives Starlink operations and launch vehicle production. You will design and maintain systems that manage high-throughput manufacturing and global satellite constellation data.

What you'll do

• Engineer reliable software solutions utilized across the entire company.
• Architect and deploy new applications to optimize internal operations.
• Construct prototypes to validate design concepts and technical requirements.
• Manage the full product development lifecycle from initial design to final delivery.
• Analyze user challenges to develop efficient, functional software.
• Participate in architectural discussions, design sessions, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific field; or 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience in full stack development.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, or Java.
• 1+ years of experience developing single page web applications.
• Background in version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Ability to design complex software systems.
• Knowledge of testing, deployment, monitoring, and performance profiling.
• Experience with build systems like Make, Bazel, Pants, Buck, or Gradle, and package managers like pip or npm.
• Familiarity with UNIX-like operating systems and management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Experience with in-stream data processing via Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Production experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Front-end development skills using React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or equivalent technologies.
