About the role

SpaceX is seeking a legal professional to manage corporate transactions and strategic investments. You will serve as a primary advisor to internal business units, balancing complex legal requirements with the company's objective of expanding human presence in space.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage all legal phases of strategic investments and corporate transactions, including due diligence, negotiation, execution, and integration.
• Create and maintain transaction playbooks and integration checklists.
• Oversee domestic and international corporate legal affairs for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts.
• Partner with stock administration regarding award agreements, employee stock plans, and related communications.
• Conduct training sessions to inform internal teams about regulatory expectations and legal standards.
• Collaborate across departments to identify legal risks and develop practical business solutions.

Requirements

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law.
• Must be admitted to the bar and in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with ITAR regulations.
• Ability to work onsite in Hawthorne, CA, including extended hours and weekends as required.

• Prior experience working as in-house counsel.
• Experience at a top-tier law firm.
• Background representing public and mature private companies.
• Experience with cross-border transactions and complex corporate structures.
• Eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and novel legal issues.

Practical notes

Total compensation includes base salary, potential discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives (stock or cash awards), and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
