About the role
SpaceXAI is building frontier reasoning, real-time voice, and generative media technologies to advance human scientific discovery. We are seeking a senior accountant to help establish our revenue accounting function as we scale operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Calculate, analyze, and report revenue for the AI platform, covering Grok API usage, subscriptions, and enterprise agreements.
- Manage monthly and quarterly journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting materials.
- Collaborate with technical accounting to document new product initiatives and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Identify and execute process improvements to automate or simplify revenue systems and reporting.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Revenue Operations, Sales, and Legal to understand business results.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
- Support annual audits, ad hoc analyses, user acceptance testing, and revenue-related projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
- Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary to meet deadlines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR export regulations.
- Must work onsite in Palo Alto, CA.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- CPA license.
- 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably within SaaS or technology.
- Proficiency in ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
- Experience with ERP and billing systems such as Oracle, HubSpot, or Stripe Billing.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with SQL, Power BI, Superset, or Alteryx.

Practical notes
- Salary range: $130,000 to $190,000 (Level 3).
