About the role

This role focuses on maintaining and improving the automation, tooling, and release processes that support our cloud-based service delivery. You will work within a collaborative environment to manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes-based systems. This is a hands-on position requiring technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to write practical automation scripts.

What you'll do

• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and release automation for microservices and SaaS applications.
• Manage developer tooling including Jenkins, GitHub, and Artifactory.
• Deploy and troubleshoot application builds across production, QA, and development environments.
• Support Kubernetes and Amazon EKS deployments, including configuration updates and operational health checks.
• Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Groovy, and Bash to streamline release and build processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Investigate build, deployment, and infrastructure issues by analyzing logs and Linux system behavior.
• Integrate security scanning and compliance tools into the development lifecycle.
• Utilize approved AI tools for scripting, documentation, and log analysis while adhering to security policies.
• Manage operational support and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, release engineering, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Linux, including shell scripting, command-line troubleshooting, and system services.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application delivery.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes concepts.
• Practical scripting experience in at least one of the following: Python, Groovy, or Bash.
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows, including versioning, branching, and artifact management.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code principles and tools, specifically Terraform.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or npm.
• Basic knowledge of secrets management, SSL/TLS, and secure automation.
• Ability to work with moderate independence on well-scoped engineering tasks.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating release status and technical updates.
• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools like Prisma Cloud or Black Duck.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools for productivity and technical troubleshooting.

Practical notes

Base salary ranges from $85,000 to $144,000 CAD, plus bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation is determined based on experience, skills, location, and relevant education. This is a remote-first position, though some roles may require a hybrid approach.
