Senior Manager, Product Documentation

About the role

We are looking for a documentation leader to guide our strategy and team within the Digital Customer Experience (DCX) function. You will oversee the standards, roadmap, and execution of content that helps our global customers navigate complex cybersecurity products. This is a player-coach position that requires both high-level strategic planning and the ability to contribute hands-on to technical content.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a multi-year documentation strategy that aligns with product roadmaps and customer success goals.
• Manage and mentor a team of technical writers, focusing on professional development and high-performance standards.
• Define and enforce content governance, including style guides, taxonomy, accessibility, and publishing workflows.
• Partner with Systems and Automation teams to integrate AI-driven tools into existing documentation processes.
• Use data analytics to measure content performance, identify gaps, and report progress to executive leadership.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Success to ensure documentation is integrated into Agile release cycles.
• Conduct audits and manage content lifecycles to ensure accuracy and usability across all platforms.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technical writing or content strategy.
• 3+ years of experience in a management role leading documentation teams.
• Proven success managing documentation programs for enterprise SaaS or B2B software.
• Proficiency in modern documentation toolchains such as Mkdocs, MadCap Flare, or Confluence.
• Strong understanding of structured content principles and Agile development environments.
• Ability to analyze data to prioritize work and influence senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional writing and editorial skills.

Nice to have

• Background in the cybersecurity industry or highly technical B2B SaaS.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted authoring tools.
• Familiarity with adjacent DCX areas like localization, knowledge base management, or customer communications.
• Experience with content analytics platforms like Google Analytics or Coveo.
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and plain language principles.
• Degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Communication, or a related field.
