About the role
Sophos is seeking a Manager, Finance System Support to lead the team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's core finance systems. In this role, you will oversee daily support operations for SAP and associated finance applications, ensuring they remain stable and performant for global users across all regions. You will also guide month-end close procedures, manage system access and controls, and contribute to broader finance transformation projects that span multiple departments. This position combines people management with hands-on technical oversight, making it ideal for a seasoned finance systems leader who thrives in a collaborative environment. The manager will work closely with the finance organization to ensure systems support the company's growing global operations and evolving business needs.

What you'll do
Lead the daily support operations for SAP and related finance applications across the organization.
Oversee month-end close readiness and ensure timely completion of financial reporting activities each period.
Manage user access controls and governance for all finance system accounts and permissions.
Guide the team that delivers system enhancements to improve the experience for finance users.
Contribute to cross-functional projects where finance systems, processes, data, or operational expertise is needed.
Support the development and rollout of AI-enabled initiatives that improve finance workflows and insights.
Coordinate with global finance teams to gather requirements and prioritize system improvement efforts.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain uninterrupted finance operations worldwide.
Develop and maintain documentation for finance system configurations, procedures, and support runbooks.
Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing finance systems support group.
Partner with external vendors and internal IT teams on system upgrades and integrations.
Drive continuous improvement in finance system processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
Ensure compliance with internal audit standards and external regulatory requirements for finance system configurations.
Facilitate training sessions and knowledge transfer to help finance users adopt new system features effectively.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline is required.
Minimum of eight years of experience supporting enterprise finance systems, with SAP expertise preferred.
Proven track record of managing a team or group of finance system professionals.
Strong understanding of month-end close processes, financial controls, and internal compliance standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines consistently.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with finance stakeholders and technical support teams alike.
Experience with AI or automation tools in a finance or business operations context.
Solid knowledge of database concepts and SQL is beneficial for this position.
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and modern ERP architectures is a strong advantage.
Background in cybersecurity or technology companies is valued but not mandatory.
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team across multiple locations.
Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret complex data and present clear recommendations.
Nice to have
Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC in a finance or controlling module capacity.
Working knowledge of XDR, SIEM, or other cybersecurity platforms within a corporate environment.
Exposure to managed service providers or outsourced support models for enterprise financial systems.
Professional certification in SAP, ITIL, or a related project management methodology is valued.
Prior experience working in a global organization with multiple time zones and regions.
