Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager at Solaris.
About the role
Solaris is looking for a structured professional to act as the primary link between our institution and external regulatory bodies. You will report to the Chief of Staff and manage formal communications, audit processes, and regulatory inquiries to ensure they align with our corporate strategy and risk policies.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for BaFin, Deutsche Bundesbank, Einlagensicherung, and external auditors.
- Draft and finalize all formal regulatory filings and statements.
- Manage a tracking system to ensure all regulatory and audit deadlines are met.
- Review outgoing communications to ensure they reflect internal risk policies and management directives.
- Coordinate with internal departments including Risk, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and Operations to gather data for regulatory responses.
- Advise the Management Board on regulatory dialogues and communication strategies.
- Oversee the lifecycle of external audits and inspections, such as section 44 KWG special audits.
- Track audit findings and communicate remediation plans to regulators.
Requirements
- Master degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal, or Audit within financial services or a Big 4 firm.
- Practical knowledge of German and European banking regulations including KWG, MaRisk, CRR/CRD, WpHG, and BaFin circulars.
- Experience managing complex, time-sensitive projects involving regulatory or audit requirements.
- Fluent German and English, with high proficiency in written business and legal terminology.
- Ability to summarize complex legal or technical issues for management.
- Capacity to work under strict deadlines and challenge internal stakeholders when necessary.
