Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

SoftPro is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This hybrid role focuses on maintaining our real estate closing and title insurance software platforms by managing Microsoft Azure environments and ensuring our service level agreements are consistently met.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create and improve observability metrics to track platform health and user experience.
• Refine service level indicators to proactively identify and resolve potential system issues.
• Architect and develop operational systems with a focus on performance, scalability, security, and application health.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code to automate alerting and monitoring configurations.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support service delivery.
• Provide incident response by triaging production issues across cloud infrastructure and software products.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on future system architecture and organizational goals.
• Participate in standard team rituals including standups, backlog refinement, and blameless postmortems.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform modules and Ansible.
• Automation experience with PowerShell, AZ CLI, Ansible, and CI/CD tools.
• Administrative experience with Linux/Unix and Windows Server operating systems.
• Experience managing orchestration platforms such as Service Fabric and Kubernetes, as well as Azure VM Scale Sets.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed computing concepts.
• Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar platforms.
• Ability to architect High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions for public cloud IaaS and PaaS.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or Azure CosmosDB.
• Operational knowledge of NGINX or HAProxy reverse proxies.
• Understanding of Identity Access Management, RBAC, and authentication configurations.
• Ability to manage tasks using ticketing and version control systems like Jira, Git, or Azure DevOps.

Nice to have

• Experience with authentication protocols including OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
• Knowledge of the OSI model, software-defined networking, and cloud network security.
• Understanding of SDLC, object-oriented programming concepts, and audit/compliance requirements.
