About the role

Snowflake is looking for an experienced attorney to support its U.S. State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED) business. This role involves negotiating complex agreements and advising on regulatory matters for a rapidly expanding organization. You will be a key legal partner within a high-impact legal team.

What you'll do

• Lead the negotiation, drafting, and management of agreements for U.S. State, Local, and Higher Education clients, including framework agreements, SaaS contracts, professional services agreements, statements of work, and partner agreements.
• Provide guidance on U.S. State and Local government procurement laws and regulations.
• Support the entire government sales cycle, from reviewing RFPs/RFIs to identifying risks and ensuring compliant proposal submissions.
• Collaborate with sales, product, engineering, finance, and compliance teams to structure and finalize deals that align with business goals.
• Offer advice on related legal areas such as data rights, intellectual property, privacy, cybersecurity, export controls, ethics, and conflicts of interest.
• Monitor and interpret changes in laws, regulations, and industry practices, then proactively inform the business.
• Drive process improvements and utilize technology to enhance legal support for a fast-growing sales organization.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience, ideally combining commercial and SLED transactional work at a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
• Proven knowledge of government procurement frameworks and contracting methods.
• Demonstrated excellence in contract negotiation, drafting, and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with export controls, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory compliance in government contracting.
• Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization abilities.
• Capacity to operate both strategically and tactically in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A collaborative, service-oriented mindset with strong professional integrity.
