What you'll do

• Design and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines using GitLab and AWS Code Pipeline for various projects.
• Develop and manage infrastructure through code using Terraform, TerraGrunt, and CloudFormation for consistent environments.
• Establish monitoring and observability frameworks with DataDog, Cloudwatch, and custom dashboards to track integration health.
• Automate the provisioning and configuration of environments.
• Address security vulnerabilities identified by tools like WIZ within service level agreements.
• Proactively update and manage AWS codebases to prevent obsolescence.
• Collaborate with developers to containerize applications and streamline Lambda deployment and dependency management.
• Improve system reliability and deployment speed by automating build, test, and release processes.
• Assist developers with staging and production release procedures, including rollback strategies and change validation.
• Work with architects to define best practices for security, scalability, and fault tolerance in integration services.
• Participate in a production support rotation, troubleshooting environment issues and enhancing alerting and recovery automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in DevOps or System Engineering roles.
• Demonstrated expertise with AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, SQS/SNS, and S3.
• Practical experience with Terraform, TerraGrunt, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CDK, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts like security groups, VPCs, and API gateway configurations.
• Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with Python and/or Javascript/Typescript for scripting automation.
• Significant experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Knowledge of various deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling deployments.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying complex issues, effective troubleshooting, and proposing solutions.
• Ability to share knowledge, mentor team members, and foster a learning environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with global, distributed teams.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot production systems and determine root causes.
• Adaptability to changing priorities, new technologies, and evolving project requirements.
• Comfort working in an Agile environment, including participation in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint finalization.
