Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Smartly is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enigma team in Helsinki. You will focus on building and maintaining secure systems for Identity and Access Management, including authentication and billing operations.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Architect and document new system features with a focus on security and scalability.
• Apply design patterns to create maintainable, high-quality code.
• Develop and manage APIs for internal and external service consumption.
• Translate technical designs into functional NodeJS and TypeScript implementations.
• Coordinate with product management, infrastructure, and support teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience building complex, distributed web applications.
• Proven ability to handle system-level design and architectural documentation.
• Strong backend development skills using NodeJS and TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of frontend technologies, specifically React.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust.
• Knowledge of IAM solutions such as Auth0, OAuth, OpenID, SAML, or Google Zanzibar.

• NodeJS, TypeScript, Koa, KnexJS, Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes, React.
