About the role
This position involves shaping an AI-driven educational platform from initial idea to final release. You will work with various teams to build features that meet user needs, using data and customer feedback to guide development.

What you'll do
- Create complete features for a Ruby on Rails application.
- Utilize AI tools like Claude and Codex for development tasks, including planning, creating prototypes, generating code, and reviewing code.
- Engage in AI-enhanced code review processes before code is deployed.
- Discuss with customers to understand their needs and product requirements.
- Analyze product usage data to inform development choices.
- Determine which features to build based on business priorities, without direct product managers.
- Develop new features with a strong understanding of product and user experience.
- Build both front-end and back-end components using a standard Rails setup with HTML, CSS, Hotwire, and some JavaScript.
- Implement user interfaces that closely match design specifications.
- Adapt to different projects as business needs change.
- Work independently while also collaborating with engineers and designers.
- Help define solutions by understanding customer needs and data, rather than just completing assigned tasks.
- Deliver high-quality results in a fast-moving environment, maintaining engineering standards through AI and human reviews.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building full-stack applications with Ruby on Rails.
- At least 3 years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Hotwire framework.
- At least 3 years of practical knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- At least 2 years of direct experience with AI engineering tools such as Claude, Codex, or similar AI agent orchestration across the development process. Experience with other AI coding tools like Cursor or Copilot Workspace is acceptable if you can quickly adapt.
- At least 2 years of proven product sense and UX judgment, with the ability to create user interfaces that are very close to pixel-perfect without extensive designer input.
- At least 2 years of working knowledge of AWS S3 and CloudFront, or equivalent object storage and CDN services from other cloud providers.
- At least 3 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions, or similar platforms like GitLab CI or CircleCI.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AWS EC2 and Elastic Beanstalk.
- Experience in the education technology sector.
- Strong product intuition developed in any field.
