You will collaborate with cross-functional design teams to translate high-level product specifications into robust, manufacturable circuit blocks for advanced memory and interface technologies. The role is central to driving semiconductor innovation by solving complex analog and mixed-signal challenges that directly impact product performance and yield. You will own the end-to-end design flow for specific blocks, ensuring that theoretical architectures are implemented and validated according to strict specifications. Success in this position requires a balance of deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate intricate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A significant portion of your contribution will involve rigorous analysis, debugging, and optimization to resolve issues that arise during simulation and post-silicon validation. What you'll do
Architect and develop analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks that form the foundation of high-speed memory and interface IP.
Translate abstract product requirements and system-level specifications into detailed circuit schematics and design methodologies.
Perform in-depth analysis using simulation tools to verify functionality, stability, and robustness under process, voltage, and temperature corners.
Collaborate closely with layout engineers to ensure design rules are met and that the physical implementation accurately reflects the intended circuit behavior.
Lead the characterization and validation of circuits using bench measurements and post-silicon test data to confirm specifications are met.
Establish and maintain clear documentation for design specifications, verification plans, and validation results to ensure team alignment.
Drive the optimization of circuit performance, power consumption, and area efficiency through iterative refinement and advanced techniques.
Support the development and improvement of verification flows and methodologies to increase design predictability and reduce tapeout risk.
Act as a technical leader in design reviews, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful transfer of designs to manufacturing.
Identify and resolve complex design issues by applying deep knowledge of semiconductor devices and circuit topologies to meet demanding targets.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including firmware and system engineers, to ensure seamless integration of the analog/mixed-signal blocks into the larger product.
Contribute to the evolution of best practices and design flows, implementing improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and reusability for future projects.
Mentor and guide junior engineers by providing technical leadership, code reviews, and constructive feedback to strengthen the overall design team.
Take ownership of critical design metrics, working end-to-end from initial concept through to final sign-off and production release.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in analog and/or mixed-signal circuit design, or hold a Master of Science degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrate a thorough and practical understanding of analog and mixed-signal fundamentals, including but not limited to noise analysis, transistor matching, parasitic effects, and feedback system stability.
Possess proven hands-on design experience in at least one of the following critical areas: wireline transmitters and receivers, continuous-time equalizers, clock and data recovery circuits, phase-locked loops, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, voltage regulators, and bandgap voltage references.
Apply mixed-signal verification strategies and post-silicon validation methodologies to evaluate and debug circuit behavior on actual silicon.
Lead and coordinate effectively with layout and mask design teams, providing clear and concise design guidance to support efficient and accurate tapeout activities.
Utilize strong collaboration, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills to overcome challenging design obstacles and meet project deadlines.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Show a commitment to adhering to project schedules and quality standards essential for the successful delivery of semiconductor products.

Practical notes
Work is onsite in San Jose, California, and follows full-time employment terms. US work authorization is required.
