About the role
Sidecar Health is seeking two Senior Software Engineers to enhance the member experience. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from backend services to user interfaces, directly impacting how members access healthcare. This role involves collaborating with product and design teams to deliver features that improve healthcare accessibility, with a strong emphasis on using AI tools.

What you'll do
Develop and deploy full-stack features for member-facing web applications from start to finish.
Write production-ready code primarily in TypeScript, ensuring high quality and test coverage.
Manage deployments using GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and Vercel, overseeing changes from creation to live production.
Design scalable systems, balancing performance, maintainability, and development speed.
Integrate LLM APIs and work with agent frameworks like Eve or Strands to build AI-driven member functionalities.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
Contribute to engineering best practices through code reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements
Possess at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of owning production systems end-to-end.
Demonstrate deep expertise in TypeScript, coupled with strong experience in React and Next.js for building modern web applications.
Be comfortable managing deployments, including experience with platforms like Vercel and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
Regularly utilize AI tools like Claude or Cursor as part of your daily development process.
Have experience building with LLMs, including API integrations, agentic workflows, or frameworks like Eve or Strands, or a strong willingness to acquire this knowledge rapidly.
Exhibit solid understanding of system design, testing methodologies, debugging, and code review processes.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or possess equivalent practical work experience.
Must reside in California.
Nice to have
Experience with React Native for mobile application development.
Familiarity with Java, as some legacy services are written in this language.
Experience with AWS.
