Principal CloudOps Engineer

About the role

Showpad is seeking a technical leader to manage and scale our cloud infrastructure. You will work hands-on with AWS environments to improve system reliability and support our growing platform capabilities.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Build and refine AWS-based infrastructure to support platform growth.
• Manage infrastructure as code using CDK and related frameworks.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex production incidents.
• Reverse-engineer systems to understand functionality when documentation is sparse.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure operational continuity.
• Collaborate with the team to remove technical blockers and share knowledge.
• Rapidly onboard to our existing environment to maintain high performance.

Requirements

• Daily use of AI-native engineering tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or Cursor.
• Extensive experience at a principal level managing and scaling complex AWS ecosystems.
• Proven ability to deploy infrastructure using AWS CDK or similar provisioning tools.
• Strong proficiency in scripting and coding for automation and platform integration.
• Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and fixing issues within live production environments.
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly to new or unfamiliar systems.
• Strong communication skills with a willingness to own technical initiatives and participate in escalations.

Nice to have

• Experience operating or scaling AI/ML infrastructure and workload pipelines.
• Background in high-throughput B2B or SaaS software environments.
• Experience modernizing mature infrastructure and reducing technical debt.
• Ability to balance individual technical contributions with mentorship and cross-team alignment.
