Key facts
What you'll do
a) Oversee the daily maintenance and upkeep of the Dallas, Texas office facilities to ensure a safe and functional environment.
b) Coordinate with internal teams to plan and execute facility improvements that directly support the company's defense-tech mission.
c) Manage vendor relationships and contracts for cleaning, security, and repair services across the United States offices.
d) Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and building codes for the facilities.
e) Supervise the facilities team and provide guidance on operational procedures for the Hivemind and aircraft programs.
f) Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption and waste within the company's physical locations.
g) Plan and coordinate office moves, expansions, and renovations to accommodate growing operational needs in the region.
h) Monitor facility budgets and allocate resources efficiently to maintain cost-effective operations for the U.S. division.
i) Facilitate communication between the Shield AI leadership and external property managers regarding facility status and ongoing needs.
j) Support the Aechelon simulation and synthetic reality teams by ensuring their specialized workspace requirements are consistently met.
k) Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential hazards and coordinate immediate remediation to maintain a secure workplace.
l) Organize emergency preparedness drills and ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and easily accessible at all times.
Requirements
a) Demonstrated experience managing facilities or real estate operations within a corporate or defense-related environment is essential.
b) Strong understanding of building maintenance and general facility upkeep procedures and industry best practices.
c) Proven ability to supervise staff and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or workplace safety.
d) Familiarity with U.S. federal and state safety regulations and local building codes.
e) Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to address unexpected facility issues in a timely and effective manner.
f) Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams involved in autonomy software and advanced aircraft development.
g) Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.
h) Willingness to travel occasionally to other U.S. offices or international locations as operational needs dictate.
i) Capacity to manage confidential information and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive facility-related matters.
