Senior Staff Engineer, Systems Test

You will lead the verification and validation efforts for our autonomous systems, ensuring our technology meets rigorous performance standards. This role focuses on bridging the gap between simulation and real-world flight operations through structured testing and technical oversight.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create mission-based test scenarios that replicate operational environments to evaluate flight control and autonomy software.
• Review new feature designs and develop comprehensive test plans based on specific requirements.
• Oversee system verification and validation events to confirm flight readiness.
• Develop Python-based test analyzers to track performance benchmarks and qualification data.
• Compile test coverage and release reports by summarizing test results against quality standards.
• Suggest enhancements for simulation models and fault injection methods to improve pre-flight testing capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience testing integrated software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to automate testing, specifically using simulation for integration testing.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, preferably within vehicle or autonomy systems.
• Knowledge of system architecture, requirement derivation, and V-model test planning.
• Experience automating test cases within established frameworks.
• Ability to generate technical documentation such as QA reports, test plans, and operational procedures.
• History of shipping products through complete development cycles in fast-paced environments.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
