About the role

Sezzle is seeking a senior developer to join our engineering team to help build financial products that increase merchant sales and improve the consumer shopping experience. You will focus on backend development while collaborating with product and support teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.

What you'll do

• Design and build software features using Golang and React.
• Construct and maintain distributed architecture systems that remain consistent at scale.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to define and create market-ready products.
• Create metrics to track and improve existing product performance.
• Deliver testable, high-quality code that meets established reporting standards.
• Lead small project teams and mentor junior engineers to improve their technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in building REST APIs using Go, Java, or Python.
• Experience with distributed, cloud-based architecture and queuing tools like RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka.
• Demonstrated ability to use large language models like Claude to assist with productivity and research.
• Proven track record of building consensus and driving new ideas forward.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL-based RDBMS and ORM tools.
• Familiarity with observability platforms such as Prometheus, NewRelic, or Datadog.
• Background in DevOps, specifically CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerized microservices deployed via Kubernetes on AWS.
• History of delivering commercial APIs and web applications.
