Sezzle is looking for a senior-level engineer who possesses a formal background in accounting or finance. You will build and maintain financial systems, focusing on reconciliation, reporting, and automation within our fintech infrastructure.

What you'll do
- Architect and develop financial software solutions using Golang, Python, and SQL.
- Partner with accounting and finance departments to automate workflows and ensure data integrity.
- Design and scale distributed systems that meet enterprise-grade compliance and reporting standards.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from initial design to production deployment.
- Mentor engineering team members to improve technical knowledge and system quality.

Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building and serving REST APIs using Go, Python, or Java.
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in using AI tools like Claude for productivity, research, and communication.
- Ability to build consensus and drive technical direction within a team.
Nice to have
- Prior professional experience working as an accountant or financial analyst.
- Background in banking or financial institutions.
- Proficiency in MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with containerized microservices deployed via Kubernetes on AWS.
