Sr. AI engineer

About the role

Sezzle is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design and deployment of machine learning models for its fintech platform. You will build scalable solutions for fraud detection, credit risk, and personalized marketplace recommendations while mentoring team members.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Architect and maintain ML infrastructure using AWS and AWS Sagemaker.
• Partner with product teams to iterate on AI-driven feature MVPs.
• Build and manage monitoring and alerting frameworks for production models.
• Support organizational adoption of AI and Generative AI tools.
• Handle production debugging and participate in on-call rotations.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in machine learning engineering with production-level deployments.
• Proficiency in using Claude or similar large language models to improve research and productivity.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and Golang.
• Background in recommendation systems, pattern recognition, or data mining.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data processing frameworks like Apache Spark and Kafka.
• Ability to use SQL for data exploration within relational databases and warehouses.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
