- Construct full-stack systems encompassing backend services, APIs, data management, and user interfaces.
- Transform ambiguous business and operational challenges into scalable, maintainable AI-powered technical solutions.
- Apply systems thinking to ensure the reliability, performance, security, and auditability of developed platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operational teams to identify and implement high-impact AI opportunities.
- Provide support for production systems and participate in incident response for owned systems.
- Mentor other AI team members through code reviews and design feedback to elevate team quality.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, platform engineering, or a similar field.
- Practical experience in designing, building, and deploying AI-powered systems into production.
- Strong command of Python, SQL, and frontend frameworks like React.
- Demonstrated ability to design and own production-ready full-stack systems.
- Experience with distributed systems, internal platforms, or intricate data processing pipelines.
- Proven experience using Claude or similar large language model tools to enhance productivity, research, and communication.
- Ability to navigate unclear problem spaces and drive solutions with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- Experience building AI-first platforms or internal products from their initial architectural stages.
- Solid understanding of core machine learning and data science principles, including various learning types, feature engineering, model assessment, and statistical inference.
- Familiarity with transformer architectures (e.g., BERT, GPT) and concepts like attention mechanisms, tokenization, and fine-tuning for specific applications.
- Experience developing AI-assisted or agentic systems that interact with tools, data, or workflows.
- Knowledge of embeddings and vector representations, including text embeddings, similarity search, and integration with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
- Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques such as text classification, named entity recognition, semantic search, and information extraction.
- Exposure to cloud development, particularly with AWS.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and common LLM application patterns.
- Experience with containerized environments and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices (e.g., GitLab).
