Principal Systems Design Engineer

About the role

ServiceNow is seeking a technical lead to manage infrastructure integrations across our core systems. You will bridge the gap between networking, cloud, identity, and collaboration platforms to ensure unified enterprise standards.

What you'll do

• Assess existing infrastructure capabilities and map out integration roadmaps.
• Coordinate between different organizational units as the primary technical liaison.
• Manage physical and wireless network environments, including SD-WAN, VPN, and cloud routing.
• Rationalize cloud hosting strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP using SRE principles.
• Automate workflows through IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate IAM systems like Okta and Entra ID while enforcing RBAC and PAM protocols.
• Standardize collaboration tools and manage large-scale data migrations.
• Maintain operational resilience through DR testing, capacity planning, and HA configurations.
• Verify security controls against standards such as SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, and CMMC/FedRamp.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture.
• Proven background in M&A integration projects.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and communicate with stakeholders.
• Expertise in networking, cloud hosting, IAM, and messaging platforms.

Nice to have

• Certifications in ITIL or cloud platforms.
• Enterprise architecture credentials like TOGAF.
• Prior experience working with ServiceNow products.
• Background in highly regulated industry environments.

Skills & tools

• Networking: LAN/WAN, WiFi, SD-WAN, cloud networking.
• Cloud & SRE: AWS, Azure, GCP, IaC, CI/CD, observability, SLOs/SLAs.
• IAM: Okta, Entra ID, SSO, MFA, directory sync, least privilege.
• Collaboration: O365, Slack.

Practical notes

• Base pay range is $192,600 - $337,100, plus equity, variable compensation, and benefits.
